PTOLEMAIC KINGDOM - Ptolemy II, 285-246. Ptolemy IV Philopator, 221-205. Gold octodrachm (Mnaieion) n. d. (221/205), Alexandria. Deified bust of Ptolemy III, radiate, to r. He wears diadem and aegis, trident over shoulder. Lotus on the middle spike of the trident. Rev. PTOLEMLIOU - BASILEWS Radiant cornucopia with fillets. DI on lower r. 27.77 g. Svoronos 1117. SNG Cop. 196. High relief attractive toning. Exceptional specimen. Extremely fine.
