Die sogenannten Foreign Exchange Certificates der Bank of China wurden 1979 als Ersatzwährung für sich in der Volksrepublik China aufhaltende Ausländer eingeführt. Deng Xiaoping organisierte 1994 die Abschaffung dieses Geldes. Seither können Besucher Chinas alle Leistungen mit dem Renminbi (Yuan) bezahlen, der allerdings weiterhin nur eingeschränkt konvertibel ist und nicht unbegrenzt ausser Landes gebracht werden darf/the so-called Foreign Exchange Certificates of the Bank of China were introduced in 1979 as a substitute for currency in the PRC residing foreigners. Deng Xiaoping organized in 1994 the abilition of this money. Since then, visitors can pay all services with the renminbi (yuan).
